Making a difference. WD Travel does stick to 24x7 client support. |

March 12, 2007. Making a difference. WD Travel does stick to 24x7 client support.
The Internet has become the medium of choice not only for travelers worldwide, but also for Travel & Tour Operators. With the Internet being the default distribution channel as an exploding number of people book online. Travel Agents need to project readiness to serve global site visitors around the clock.
With an ever increasing client base, WD Travel clearly understands that client satisfaction is still the name of the game. With currently well over 50 employees serving in the WD Travel Bangkok office, the company has for a long time maintained it’s commitment to 24x7, 365 day service.
Mr. Heiko Wilms, CEO, explains: "Unlike most traditional wholesalers, our reservation team is standing by 24 hours a day. We do not close over weekends, neither for public holidays. This is a basic requirement as a high number of travel & tour operators are located in Europe". The reservation staff's commitment, he continues, is ensured by an attractive commission scheme. “It is true that salaries of our reservation team are well above the Thailand average, however staff turnover is minimal and all reservation staff are extremely motivated”, Wilms explains.
WD Travel, Asia’s first true web based provider for FIT hotel bookings, supplying wholesalers, travel & tour operators and travel organizers worldwide, has its offices in Bangkok, Thailand. For more information, access the WD Travel website at or contact the WD Travel team. |

WD Travel, Asia’s first true web based wholesale provider for FIT bookings, supplying wholesalers, travel & tour operators and travel organizers worldwide, has further upgraded it’s online booking system TravelWorks.

March 6, 2007. WD Travel, Asia’s first true web based wholesale provider for FIT bookings, supplying wholesalers, travel & tour operators and travel organizers worldwide, has further upgraded it’s online booking system TravelWorks.
When it comes to IT, unlike most Travel & Tour Operators, Mr. Heiko Wilms, CEO of WD Travel does not believe in outsourcing. Merging travel with technology, all web based and internal applications have been custom built by the WD Travel in-house IT team. This includes all reservation, hotel inventory management and data management systems.
"In-house development allows for more control over schedules and specifications leading to a faster turnaround of software development", says Wilms. "Public and in-house applications must be evolutionary in design to fluently sync with the company’s growth. Timely system upgrades are critical to the competitiveness of WD Travel. Third party providers would find it hard to meet our constantly evolving system specs", Wilms continues.
Developed in-house, TravelWorks is the development platform for WD Travel’s fully automated global online travel reservation system, linking room inventory with travel & tour operators worldwide. Constantly evolving, the system provides smart information management for the WD Travel in-house reservation system and travel portals.

WD Travel, Asia's first true web based wholesaler for FIT bookings, supplying wholesalers, travel & tour operators and travel organizers worldwide, has announced that its client base has now passed the 4,000 mark as of today.

Feb. 12, 2007. WD Travel, Asia’s first true web based provider for FIT bookings, supplying wholesalers, travel & tour operators and travel organizers worldwide, has announced that its client base has now passed the 4000 mark as of today.
Bangkok based WD Travel, announced that it's customer base has now grown to 4000 local and international travel & tour operators. With a focus on hotels in Asia, the number of contracts with travel & tour operators have steadily increased. According to Mr. Heiko Wilms, CEO of WD Travel Co., Ltd., the consistent increase of clients clearly indicates a vote of confidence. "We are able to communicate to our clients that we are here to make a difference when it comes to service", Mr. Wilms states.
When prompted about the possibility of insufficient inventory due to the sharp increase in demand, Wilms contends: "Despite the ever increasing demand on our hotel allocations, we are confident to provide sufficient hotels rooms throughout 2007. Our sales team is aggressively contracting leading hotels and hotel groups".
When asked about the success of WD Travel, Wilms admits that the majority of his agent client base consists of small to mid sized agents. "It has been our aim from the start to reach out to the smaller agents. The feedback we receive from our customers is that larger, established wholesalers do not readily engage and do not seek to meet the requests of the smaller agent. By continuing to serve this market we believe our strong growth rates will continue to expand in the future", Wilms explains.
